Who are the volunteers?
A 17-year-old student from Hamburg approached us and asked us if she can donate her time in any way. Because of the coronavirus, the schools in Hamburg are temporarily closed. With a lot of time on her hands through self-isolation, she decided to drum up a few friends to support a good cause in this time of crisis. Since washing hands is extremely important at the moment due to the corona crisis, the idea emerged. Seven of her friends and she started folding tons of soapboxes and illustrating beautiful art for our cause. We’re incredibly thankful for this fantastic initiative!
Where do the funds go?
The donations collected through the soap bars go directly towards improving the hygienic situation at the orphanage in Kon Tum. The corona virus harshly affects Kon Tum. The children are all healthy, but it is important to take precautions, especially because of the critical hygienic situation at the orphanage. Therefore, Teresa buys soap, cleaning supplies, disinfectants, and medicine from the funds. Additionally, funds go towards the construction of the bathrooms. With the help of further donations the construction of the bathrooms finishes soon. Having more bathroom stalls would improve the hygienic situation immensely.
