Our project

About LBD

Over 100 children, aged 2 to 22 years, live in the orphanage. Most of them are of primary school age, but some young adults are already undergoing vocational training or attending university. It is important to us to support each child until they are independent, in order to break the cycle. The majority of the children belong to the Montagnard ethnic minority, who suffer from extreme poverty.

The orphanage is located in a suburb of Kon Tum in the central highlands of Vietnam, near the borders with Cambodia and Laos. It is surrounded by fruit trees, vegetable gardens, a rice field, and free-roaming chickens and ducks.

Our Achievements

We have built sleeping quarters, sanitary facilities, and implemented various sustainability projects and provided all kids with medical care, educational and daily needs since 2019.

Boys' Dormitory: 104m², 4 bedrooms, 1 bathroom
Multi-Complex: 420m², 6 girls' bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 2 study rooms, 1 library, 1 community room
Sanitary Facilities: 4 bathrooms, covered areas with additional sinks and laundry area
Bakery: Building equipped with a dough kneading machine, oven, and baking sheet racks
Technical Equipment: Computers, smartphones, and printers for homework and homeschooling
Construction of a drinking water well
Rainwater Collection Basin: Irrigation systems for the fruit and vegetable garden
Road: Access route to the orphanage
Garden: 300+ fruit trees, vegetable beds, chickens, rice field
